MMORPGs were arguably quite successful in the early 2000s, especially for those who like to play online games. However, quite a few MMORPG games have fallen by the wayside because they don’t offer more innovation and seem to be pay-to-win. One example is Elyon, the MMORPG made by South Korean developers, which will be shut down in the West.
Kakao Games is official Announce The MMORPG Elyon European and North American servers will shut down on December 7th. That means the game will only last a year or so, with the first edition opening last October 2021.
To all our adventurers, thank you for joining our Elyon.

The main reason they closed Elyon was that the game was no longer relevant to the region and the number of players continued to dwindle to a staggering number.
Elyon is a AAA MMORPG from developer Bluehole. In this game, players will go on an adventure in the beautiful and dangerous land of Haas. The game itself offers sophisticated customization options to create unique play styles, an immersive open world with stunning graphics, and a variety of PvE and PvP activities.
It’s important to stress that the closed Elyon is the only one released in the West by Kakao Games. As for the Southeast Asian version, including in Indonesia, it still has various updates so far. Because the publisher here is different, namely PlayPark. The Korean game itself still has various updates, such as new maps, new modes, and new classes.
